Everyone at some point in their lives will start to understand their sexuality. It may happen when they are fourteen or it may happen when they are twenty-four. It may even happen when they are forty. The only thing that matters is that the person knows who they are and what they want in life. Whether that person is gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transgender or heterosexual does not matter to anyone else except one person. The person themselves is the only one that needs to who they are and what they want.
There is no one anywhere that has the right to tell a person who they have to be or who they cannot be. Everyone has his or her own lives that are of no concern to anyone else. Could you imagine if being gay was the acceptable way of life and being heterosexual was not the norm? If the tables were turned, how would heterosexual couples feel being told that they could not marry or live with dignity? Before judging anyone, one has to think about what they are saying or doing. They have to think about how it would affect them if the same thing were happening to them.
No one has a choice how they are born or what their sex will be. They do not even know what their sexuality will be. All someone knows is they were born and now have life. As they grow and learn in school, they are taught about equality and the constitution. What they do not learn in school is that you have to live the way other people see fit or you will not have equality and constitutional rights. However, you will be expected to pay taxes and abide by the law even if you are not treated fairly.
How is that for a free country?
