The Military Gay Ban Is Gone

In 60 days from today, gays can openly admit to being gay without facing discharge from the military. Obama told the gay community that he would remove the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy and he did just that it was reported Friday, July 22, 2011.

Opponents of dropping the policy said it's a political payoff to left-leaning gay and lesbian activists. The head of the Center for Military Readiness, Elaine Donnelly, has lobbied against the repeal, saying it will "undermine morale and readiness in the all-volunteer force."

This is one more step up the ladder to equality for gays around the country. Military personnel can now designate their same-sex partners as beneficiaries for insurance and other benefits.

New York Weddings Begin

New York's gay marriages will start being performed on Sunday, July 26, 2011. However, the Westboro Baptist Church plans to protest the marriages being performed. Once again, the cult of haters will try to ruin the wedding day because of there hatred for gays. This is the same cult that protests at slain soldiers funerals and causes disruption and even more sorrow to the families.

Pastor Fred Phelps,of Westboro Baptist Church has protested the funerals of former first lady Betty Ford, television personality Ryan Dunn, Elizabeth Taylor and the victims of the Arizona shooting that severely wounded Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.

Without a hitch, New York gay marriages will go on as planned. New York only planned on 700 marriages on Sunday though a lottery drawing, but has allowed 824 couples the ability to marry on the first day. More than 2,500 people have preregistered for licenses. Mayor Michael Bloomberg will perform two weddings himself. Two of his staffers are part of the lottery winners that will marry on Sunday.

The AFA Boycotting And My Questions To Them

The AFA otherwise known as the American Family Association as they so gloriously call themselves are not speaking for me or many others in the world. I have questions for them that I know they will not answer here because they only spout off when they have nothing better to do. Here a few of there crusades that meant nothing in the end and my questions to them if they choose to speak up, which I doubt they will. I think they hide in confrontation.

The AFA boycotted Ford Corporation starting in 2005 because Ford supported the homosexual agenda. They donated thousands of dollars to Gay Rights Groups and even sponsored Gay Pride Parades. Ford saw nothing wrong with gay and lesbian relationships and wanted to be supportive. The AFA has since dropped the boycott because other things have come around. They think they won because Ford saw a drop in sales. Could it be that the economy had something to do with that? You really must think about that in order to openly say there was progress.

The AFA boycotted Walden Books and lost. They ended up having a lawsuit file against them for harassment. They wanted the bookstore to stop selling Playboy and Penthouse. Thumbs up for Waldens Book stores.

Then they tried to boycott Kohl's because they never mentioned Christmas in their ads at Christmas time. Kohl's did not suffer at all. People like to shop at Kohl's and continued to do so. The owner is Jewish.

Now there is the boycott against Proctor & Gamble for the gay kiss on "As the World Turns" which PG sponsors. You do not hear so must about this anymore, did the AFA finally wake up and realize that no one was going to boycott a company that makes so many things that they need to survive?

The AFA went so far as to say that the reason for the Virginia High School slayings and Combine as well as the rest of the school shooting is because the bible is not allowed in schools. They might have had ground to stand on if they would have taken the right approach and found out what the kids felt. Not all kids need the bible to good. Some do turn out bad because of other underlying things.

They even went after the Girl Scouts of America because they do not discriminate against any girl that is a lesbian and wants to be a Girl Scout. They allow everyone the right to be a Girl Scout.

The AFA even went after Kraft Foods with no success because Kraft was a sponsor for the Gay Games in 2005 at Chicago.

The AFA has had its website blocked by many webmasters who believe that they practice hatred and discrimination against gays. They AFA says that they have a right to do this because of freedom of speech and freedom of religion.

My question for any brave AFA member is:

If you believe in freedom of speech and freedom of religion, then why are you discriminating against companies that have the freedom to support any organization or group of people they choose?

Why do you discriminate against anyone or anything?

Do you think you are better than the rest of us people who find nothing wrong with the gay community?

Do you think people that support gay and lesbian people are bad too?

As we all know, they are not going to come here and answer these questions because they are just spouting off a bunch of hot air. They are people with nothing better in their lives, so they dream up ways to get attention. All negative of course.

Being Gay Is Hard Today

Being gay in today's society is hard because many people teach hatred and discrimination towards gays. As many gay couples have found out, the marriage issues are something that many people are fighting against. The reason for this is that they do not want gay couples to marry. They feel it is against God. The truth is that these people are not reading the entire bible. The bible also says that no one should discriminate against anyone.

Gay and lesbian people are human and fit into this wording in the bible. The organizations that are anti-gay are doing exactly what the bible says not to do. However, they call themselves Christians. I find it hard to relate to the bible when the people that preach the bible are going against what it says. If you read the bible, some passages anyway, it does seem to preach hate and good all in one.

Gay and lesbian people deserve and will get the respect in today's society that they deserve. It is just a matter of time.

Exodus International Is Really Trying To Change Gay People

Although this organization claims to love and except gay people, they are really trying to change them and make them heterosexuals. Yes, they have worked to get laws changed to punish though that abuse and beat gays. However, the truth is that one of the leaders was quoted as saying that he would never rent to a gay person. Now, you have to wonder what exactly was the thinking or logic of this person for saying this. The ex-gay ministries as they call themselves seem like nothing more than a group of people who are denying who they are and pretending to be "cured" as they say.

Can you cure someone of being gay? No, it is not possible to live a healthy life if you try to brainwash someone into hating himself or herself so much to denounce who they are. You can brainwash someone into being "not gay," but you cannot change a gay person inside.

Focus on the Family's Love is for intervention that requires taking your child to pre-homosexual treatment. It practices conversion therapy and has been used on children as young as 5 years old. Isn't this a form of child abuse? I would say so, but then again they get away with practicing hate.

Conversion therapy is harmful to anyone. It causes many suicide attempts, low self-esteem, social isolation and depression. Why would someone even consider doing this to a child, they say they love. This in my opinion is the worst form of mental abuse. You cannot change someone's sexual orientation. Doing this to children is horrible. These people call themselves protectors. If this is how they protect the young, I would rather take my chances of living as a gay person.

Someone needs to speak up and keep these so called ex-gays out of schools and away from our kids. Adults can fight back, but kids whose parents listen to this garbage are causing so much pain to their children. This is a horrible way to treat children gay or not gay.

Five-year-old kids do not know if they are gay or not. It comes about later in the child's life. My daughter knew she liked girls when she was young, but she did not know she was gay. It took time for her to come to a realization herself. This must stop.

A True Gay Love Story With A Sad Ending

All she wanted was love and respect from her family and friends. I worked with Sherry many years ago and talked to her often. She was a nice person who did not dislike anyone. She found her way out.

I do want to point out that this is about a lesbian named Sherry, but I could be writing about a man named Mike, I knew, who was heterosexual and had the same problems and solution. We are all the same, with the same feelings.

This is a true story about a woman that just wanted to be in love and have her family and friends accept her for who she was. She was a lesbian. This is her story.

All she ever wanted in life was to be happy. She became pregnant after leaving the service, but found herself drawn to her best friend from the service. They were so close and enjoyed so many things together. They became intimate and decided to raise her then young son together. She was so excited and happy for the first time since she was a teenager.

They lived together without the support of her family and friends. Her partner's family was very open and welcoming, but her family was judgmental and demeaning of her relationship and of her partner. Sherry was determined to make her relationship with Tami work. She tried to reason with her family and found herself losing every time she turned around.

Tami was about to leave because she could not take the discrimination and judgmental behavior of Sherry's friends and family. Sherry thought the only way she would ever make the pain go away would be to die. She tried to commit suicide by pills. Her mother found her and she was saved. For what, she wondered, since she had loss the love of her life.

Her son was growing and started to take on similar attitudes as her friends and family had. What did she expect when they were constantly telling him she was bad and that Tami should not live there with them. Tami came back, only to leave again. It was impossible to be happy in that home. Sherry tried suicide again. She slashed her wrists and was saved when Tami found her.

Tami and Sherry tried to make things work. They loved each other and wanted to be together, but the turmoil that friends and family were inflicting was unbearable for Tami, who had total acceptance from her family and friends.

The third time Sherry tried to commit suicide she succeeded. She hanged herself in the basement. All she wanted was love and respect from her friends and family. She needed them to accept her. She wanted to be with the one person she felt comfortable with and loved. She wanted Tami.

This story takes a bad turn and not only was Sherry gone, but her son was the one to come home and find her instead of her mother. All these lives ruined because no one in her family would accept her and her relationship.

A boy without a mother, a woman without her life, a woman without the one person she loved, but could not have according to some people who could not open their minds and their hearts for love.

Some Big Companies Support The NGLCC

You will find some big companies supporting the gay agenda including AT&T, Kodak, Burger King and McDonalds. Also included in this list is IBM, Wells Fargo, JPMorganChase, Intel, Motorola, Travelport, Lehman Brothers, American Express, Aetna, Accenture, Marriott, Supervalu, CITI, UPS, Intuit, Cisco, Coors Light, Morgan Stanley, Hilton, Office Max, Ramada, Century 21, Freddie Mac, Johnson & Johnson and so many more.

Looking at this particle list makes one think. How can all these people that belong to the AFA think that everyone is going to boycott these companies? These are companies that get support from consumers because they are not judgmental and discriminating. The companies are doing a great service for everyone in the world. If you give into one organization, then you will teach others to give in and where would the world be then.

Women were allowed to vote finally because no one gave in and decided women were people and deserved the right to vote. African Americans were finally given rights and slavery was abolished. Interracial marriages were finally accepted and people were then allowed to adopt children outside of their race and color.

If people do not stand up and support these companies as they do every day, where would we be now. Back in the days of discrimination. Oh, that is exactly what we have going on now. It is time for a change and a change for the better. Gay persons deserve the right to be recognized and married if they choose. Gay rights are just as important as African American rights, Women's rights and the rights of every individual to be recognized and counted.

As The World Turns Guest Stars Cyndi Lauper

Cyndi Lauper appeared on "As the World Turns" for Gay Pride in 2008. The soap opera that has been criticized for it portrayal of Noah and Luke having a gay relationship and that first kiss is not backing down. Procter & Gamble and CBS are keeping the home fires burning with their decision to try for a reunion between now estranged lovebirds Noah and Luke.

The little honky tonk bar was decked out with Pride flags and Cyndi sings her songs. Cyndi was there to help bring Noah and Luke back together. Her visit to Oakdale was a blast for Oakdale residents as Cyndi sang up a storm and stirred feelings within Noah and Luke.

Oakdale has been the first to celebrate Gay Pride and it is a relief to see that the show does take on real life situations and play them out. Take a look at Cyndi singing her song for the crowd.

Is It Possible For Gays To Be Christian

This question is one that has been asked many times, but no one has ever had the right answer. The answer is yes, gay people can be Christians. Ones sexual preference does not make one any less of a person or a Christian. Being gay does not mean the person does not believe in God. Many people will ask, "How can you say that and believe that?"

The answer is simple. God does not judge his children. He does not discriminate. The bible says that gluttony is a sin. This would mean that every overweight person in the world could not be a Christian. If you look around you as you read this, pick out three people and think about each one.

The first person I see is an overweight construction worker. If we rely on the bible to guide us, he is a sinner. He is overweight. I could never like him.

The next person I see is a single mom walking her baby. She is not married and had a child out of wedlock. She is a sinner. I don’t like her.

The next sight I see is a man walking into the neighbor's house. Since this happens every day after her husband leaves and he only stays for an hour or so, he could be having an affair. They are both sinners. I don't like them.

Then I have myself, I have just judged three people because of what the bible says. I have committed a sin because I am discriminating against these people because of the way they live their lives.

Is it possible for gays to be Christians? Yes. We are all Christians if we believe in God. That is all there is to say. Your sexual preference or lack of good judgment (the horny neighbor, overweight person and single mom) does not make you not a Christian. Everyone is a Christian if he or she believes.

What Makes Up A Family

A family is one that lives together, loves each other and does things together as a whole. A family is the one that cares for each other in sickness and in health. A family is one that cries together and tries to makes things better. A family has diagreeemnts and arguments that are resolved by talking. A family works to make life better for each member. A family does not hold judgment against each other. A family offers support when needed.

Are you a family? You are if you do any of these things together. Whether you are heterosexual or gay, if you live, love, resolve issues and work together, you are a family. No one can tell you that you are not a family as long as you live as a family. The people who tell you that you are not a family or have no right to be a family do not know what they are talking about.

Same sex partners and heterosexual partners have the right, equally, to be called a family and raise their families in a healthy and safe environment. Everyone has the right to be a family and have that family recognized by society. If you think about this logically, you will see that everyone deserves to be happy and experience life as a family. Whether a person is gay or straight, they deserve to be happy and enjoy the rewards of being a family.

What makes up your family?

The Buzz Is All About Gay's

Everyone knows that the gay community is always in the headlines. The thing that most people do not know is that there are people that actually think they are talking in plain English when they try to tell a story. The truth is that they open their mouths and something stupid comes out.

My latest read came from a man named Matt Barber, who was the AFA online guest columnist that posted an article in July. He was talking about the latest controversy over the legal visitation of a former partner of the mother of a six-year-old girl. The ex-partner wants visitation and the mother disagrees. Anyway, that is not my problem with his post.

The problem I have with his post is that he said that the mother, Lisa Miller was involved in a homosexual relationship before she became a Christian. He goes on to say that, the Vermont courts are trying to pull the daughter away from her biological mother because of her Christian faith. He then adds that the homosexual agenda is against the Christian faith.

Now, I might be a little slow sometimes, but when did being gay mean that you were not a Christian? Lisa Miller was a homosexual until she became a Christian. Matt Barber wants you to believe that she was not a Christian before this. If you believe in God and accept him, you are a Christian. Am I wrong?

Once again, the AFA has decided that you are not a Christian if you are gay. The bible did not say that, the AFA does. The bible may say many things, but it does not say you are an atheist if you are gay. The AFA must be the new God. I suggest the people who believe in them and their words run and hide because you are working against the bible and not for it.

The bible you preach about so much says that you should not discriminate.

Why Pay Attention To Diversity

The term diversity is relatively new, but is showing up everywhere in our culture. Diversity offers us all a way to talk about and understand what we are and it has a meaning for all of us. Everyone needs to understand what diversity means and embrace the values and ideas that come with it.

We as human beings are diverse. We all have different capabilities, talents and appearances. People speak different languages and have different talents such as some people are good at parenting, some are good at athletics and some are good at school. Everyone is good at something. Some people may be fast or strong, some may have endurance. Some people are big, some are small, some are old and some are young. Some are gay and some are straight. People come in different colors. Each person is unique and different, which makes no two people alike.

Although people are different, they do have one thing in common. We all have heartbeats. Some have different desires and thoughts, which makes us unique. In a diverse culture, we all have the same values of home, love and family. We are all different, but we are all alike. We need to accept and honor diversity because God's world would be nothing without each and every one of us.

If God had wanted the world populated with humans that thought exactly the same, spoke the same or looked the same or lived the same, he would have arranged it that way. Because we are all here with hearts beating, it means that every one of us is important. The fact is that we all need each other because no one person knows everything about the world. We each contribute something.

There is one thing that puzzles people in this world. It is that when faced with someone different from what we think or know, people display a judgmental and negative reaction. No matter what someone's language is, sexual orientation is or color of skin is, people must learn to accept diversity. It is time to except people for who they are because to them we are different as well. Understanding people of diversity is the only option to keep the world alive and thriving. Humanity is not complete unless it includes every single person.

The Census Bureau Will Not Count Gay Marriages

Noted in 2008: The US Census Bureau will not count gay married couples as a family when conducting the next census. The bureau defines a family as people related by birth or by marriage or adoption. They have said that gay marriages that take place in California, Massachusetts or anywhere else will not be deemed a family on the census reports.

This means that the US Census Report will not reflect all families in the country. The report will be wrong. This can only create more tax deficits and confusion when calculating the population of the United States. This means that once again the government has found a way to hide same sex marriages and gay couples living together as a family.

This new announcement will go against everything that the census was intended for statistically. The opinions of most will not change, but you can bet this will affect the government when planning tax budgets and agreements.

John McCain Does Not Believe In Gay Adoption

A question was posed to John McCain about whether he agreed with President Bush's statement that gays should not be allowed to adopt children. McCain agreed with Bush and said he believes that two parents are important for the family to be a success. Therefore, McCain does not believe in gay adoption. Since we already know that McCain does not believe that gay couples should marry, this should not have came as a surprise.

When asked if the only other alternative was for kids to live in orphanages without parents, McCain evaded that question by saying he and his wife are adoptive parents and he encourages others to adopt children in need. He believes the adoption process should be less complicated and fast.

This means to me that McCain would rather see children that are hard to place live without parents in an orphanage or worst because gay couples should not be allowed to adopt. I have met parents, gay parents that is, that have adopted hard to place children only to find out the children only needed love and understanding. The compassion that gay couples have is amazing. They have the time to raise a family and be happy.

One would have to wonder what makes McCain so cold when it comes to children. Since he does not use the Internet much, he must not know that there are so many children out there that need homes, but cannot find parents because of underlying situations. Before he can take a stand against gay adoption, he should get together with his advisers and campaign staff and find out the statistics about children that nobody wants to adopt. .

Someone should really send McCain some information regarding children in the world that need homes and do not have them. Maybe he would have to wake up and realize that he is dooming these precious children to a life without love and compassion. He is denying these children parents to love them and care for them. He is denying children the advantages of his own daughter.

Coming To Terms With Your Sexual Preference

You hear many stories from kids, young adults and older people about their sexual preference. I recently talked with a man that was married for seventeen years and had three daughters. He was married to a high school sweetheart and had no intention of leaving her or his daughters. We will call this man Rob for the sake of this story.

Rob has stated that he has always felt that he had feelings for men, but until recently, he never identified this with a sexual preference until he met a man through work that really stirred feelings inside him. He said he had felt these feelings when he was younger, but people never talked about being gay or lesbian so he just ignored his feelings and married his wife. Rob went on to say that, these feelings are very strong for this other man. He is filled with confusion and has no idea what to do.

Unfortunately, today's society makes it hard for people to be honest with their feelings and with other family members. This has been happening for many years. When Rob was younger, openly admitting you were gay was not heard of. Today, if you admit you are gay, people judge you, criticize you, and tell you it is your imagination. People will rush you to the first available counselor or church official to "cure" you from these feelings.

Rob is not any different from anyone else that has these feelings. Many people young and old are afraid of what family and friends will say if they tell them how they feel. It is a shame that people suffer inside because they are afraid of how they will be judge or ridiculed for how they feel. Rob is in his early forties and has these feelings of uncertainty about telling people. Can you imagine how a teenager feels?

Kids should feel good about sharing their thoughts and feelings with a family member or a friend instead of feeling the need to hide their feelings. If adults continue to make a big deal about being gay or lesbian, more children are going to grow up with serious issues that could be avoided if people would just open their minds and accept people for who they are and not what they think people should be.

New York Passes Law Allowing Gay Marriage

It's a good day in New York. Gay couples wanting to marry can now do so in New York. Governor Andrew Cuomo has made New York the sixth and most populous U.S. state to allow gay marriage. This sends a message to other states, or it should.

Same sex marriages aren't going away. People of the same sex want to marry and have the same equality that other couples in love have no matter what a few select have to say. In 30 days, couples will be able to share in the joy other couples have when they say, "I do" in front of an official, if they find one to perform the ceremony.

Although it's a law, religious institutes do not have to perform the ceremonies if they don't agree with doing it. But, that's okay, because there are plenty of officials that can perform the ceremony that will unite a same sex couple without hesitation.

New Hampshire, Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, Vermont and the District of Columbia allow gay marriages, and Illinois Delaware, Hawaii and New Jersey approved civil unions. There are 39 states including Wisconsin that ban gay marriage.

Coming Out At 15 Years Old

A story shared by Jamie.

I was a kid when I thought I liked girls. I did play with boys and girls both, but I always felt more comfortable and had more fun with girls. I tried to go out with boys, but I never really considered them a boyfriend. I was fifteen when I knew I liked girls and wanted to be with them for sure. I told my friends about how I felt because I thought they could accept me. I was right except for one person. She told her parents, who told my parents.

My friends where more supported than my family. My dad told me I had no idea what I wanted and my mom cried. I would liked to of been the one to tell them, but I was too late. My brother told me to stay away from him and his friends and my sister refused to sleep in the same bedroom with me. My family life was not good, but my friends were always there for me.

Today, I am 25 years old and have many friends. My family is still around, but they still have a hard time accepting who I am. I go to their house for holidays and things, but I was told to never bring a "friend" along. I was told that they would not accept that or have it in their home. It is not that my family is religious or anything, they just don’t like gays. Of course, they don’t like many people.

I have a girlfriend and we live together as a couple. Some day I would like to get married and have a family. My girlfriend feels the same way. I think that anyone who knows who they are and what they want should not be afraid to say it and show it. I never got discouraged when my family let me down because I had supportive friends. If you are gay, don’t be afraid to say it. We all deserve happiness and deserve respect.

I am gay and proud of it, not ashamed. I also believe in God, but I don't go to church. I drink a little and have never done drugs. I am a normal person with a normal life.

How Gay Couples Can Get Married In Massachusetts

Gay couples wanting to get married in Massachusetts only need to be in the state for three days prior to getting married. The state has no residency requirements and welcomes all heterosexual and gay couples looking to marry. The only thing you need to do is apply for the license and wait three days before having the ceremony. Once the ceremony is preformed, the license is signed, dated, and mailed back to the clerk's office. The married couple will receive the marriage certificate shortly after that.

One thing you might not know about the law for gay couples getting married is that if their state does not recognize same sex marriages, they can marry but will have to take up residence in Massachusetts. Before you decide to marry in Massachusetts, you can read the laws to see if you can marry if you live in a state that bans same sex marriages. If you live in Rhode Island, New Mexico or Massachusetts, you can marry without relocating to the state.

Therefore, if your state bans same sex marriages, you cannot marry in Massachusetts unless you take up residency first. There are some sections of the laws to read before deciding if you can marry. Here are the sections of the law to read:

G.L. ch. 207, § 25.
G.L. ch. 207, §§ 4, 6.
G.L. ch. 272, § 15.
G.L. ch. 207, §§ 1, 2.
G.L. ch. 207, § 3.

Domestic Partner Benefits

There are over 9,000 employers nationwide that offer domestic partner benefits and same sex partners are included. By offering domestic partner benefits, these companies have a chance of recruiting employees that are more qualified. Although this is a good business decision, it is also a fair decision.

Domestic partner is a couple that has a long-term relationship, but one does not qualify for benefits because they are not married. This does include same sex couples as well as heterosexual couples. The most common benefit is health insurance. This is important for everyone to have no matter what his or her health status is now.

The first company to start the ball rolling on domestic partner benefits was Lotus Development. Thousands of companies have followed this same type of policy. Every day another company adds themselves to the growing list. Some government agencies are starting to follow the same as they work to retain new employees. By offering equal benefits to all employees, companies win and so does the public.

The right to have affordable health care is important and because of these companies standing up for equal rights to everyone, no one should have to go without health care.

Right now, 9,374 employers offer domestic partner benefits. This is comprised of 270 Fortune 500 companies, 8653 private sector companies, 13 state governments, 144 city and county governments and 304 colleges and universities.

The total keeps going up and soon it will be the normal thing for companies to offer domestic partner benefits. This is a start and everyone needs to realize this and accept it.

Joining The Support Of The Gay Community

I have seen and heard many comments about the gay community and I have one conclusion. Many people are starting to see the groups against the gay community as a pest more than anything. Why I say this, you might wonder. The latest scam by the AFA to boycott McDonalds in Illinois only netted a handful of people. These people had nothing important to say. They stood around listening to some hogwash being spouted by the "leader."

The people were not as supported of the boycott as one might think. What has actually happened is that McDonald's stocks went up. Yes, everyone has decided to eat more and keep McDonalds in the loop of places to eat. If you look around at things that happen throughout the states, you will see that most times, these people are looking for attention more than they are supporting their supposed cause.

Seeing more support for the gay community is something that should not be needed because it should have never been an issue. Nevertheless, it is nice to see some people finally realizing that they cannot stop people from being themselves. Maybe they are waking up and realizing that people have just had enough of the boycotts and the discrimination.

Some day soon, this will be over and then everyone can get along and leave everyone live their own lives without interference from a few who need to have their views publicly heard no matter how ludicrous they seem.

Facts And Myths About Gay Parenting And Adoption

We often here people saying the reason for forbidding gay adoption is that children need two parents. Evidently, children that are raised by two parents are better than a child raised by one parent. The truth is that children raised by one parent turn out just fine. Children raised by gay parents turn out just fine.

A good example of a child being raised by gay parents and having a good life is the Cincinnati Reds player Joe Valentine. Joe is a relief pitcher who was raised by two moms. He respects his moms and loves them. They must have raised him very well since he is a member of a national baseball team. Joe said that having two moms was no different from having a mother and a father. Joe Valentine is married and worked very hard to get to where he is today with the support of his two moms.

Here are a few myths and facts about gay parenting that no one seems to get.

Myth - Kids raised by gay parents are gay.

Truth – There is no evidence that supports any suggestion that children that are raised by gay parents grow up gay.

Myth – Children have more problems if raised by gay parents.

Truth – The American Psychological Association conducted tests and the findings were that children raised by gay parents have no disadvantages from child raised by heterosexual parents. Both home situations provide grow psychosocially.

Myth – Gay men are prone to sexually assault child.

Truth – There is no connection between sexual orientation and sexual assault of children. This truth was concluded by the Child Welfare League and the Connecticut Correctional System.

Myth – Social workers say that gay parents should not adopt children.

Truth – The fact is that social workers agree that heterosexual parent and gay parents are both evaluated the same way to see if they would make good parents. Sexual orientation is not a part of the evaluation.

Myth
- Gay people do not need or want a family.

Truth – The truth is that a poll by the Kaiser Family Foundation showed that gay people that are not currently parents would like to have children and be a family. This was 49 percent of the gay people polled. Today there are over four million gay parents raising between eight to ten million children.

Eight to ten million children being raised by gay parents. Yes, they are the next generation that will be voting to allow gay marriages and gay adoptions. There is hope for the world yet.

Understanding Your Sexuality

Everyone at some point in their lives will start to understand their sexuality. It may happen when they are fourteen or it may happen when they are twenty-four. It may even happen when they are forty. The only thing that matters is that the person knows who they are and what they want in life. Whether that person is gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transgender or heterosexual does not matter to anyone else except one person. The person themselves is the only one that needs to who they are and what they want.

There is no one anywhere that has the right to tell a person who they have to be or who they cannot be. Everyone has his or her own lives that are of no concern to anyone else. Could you imagine if being gay was the acceptable way of life and being heterosexual was not the norm? If the tables were turned, how would heterosexual couples feel being told that they could not marry or live with dignity? Before judging anyone, one has to think about what they are saying or doing. They have to think about how it would affect them if the same thing were happening to them.

No one has a choice how they are born or what their sex will be. They do not even know what their sexuality will be. All someone knows is they were born and now have life. As they grow and learn in school, they are taught about equality and the constitution. What they do not learn in school is that you have to live the way other people see fit or you will not have equality and constitutional rights. However, you will be expected to pay taxes and abide by the law even if you are not treated fairly.

How is that for a free country?

The Debate About Promiscuity

Promiscuity is what gay people are all about, is a common defense for people when defending why they are against same sex relationships. If you would listen to someone describe this way of thinking, you would see that they have neglected to include any promiscuity by heterosexual people.

If I had to compare any gay people I know and heterosexual people I know, I would have to say that the heterosexual people are more promiscuous than gay people are. Gay people do not go out looking for a one-night stand. Heterosexual men are the ones that are out for a one-night stand. Heterosexual women can be the same, but it is mostly the men. A gay person goes out to have fun with friends and is usually with someone or just looking to meet people.

If you have never talked to or been with a gay person, you cannot judge. Labeling is something that most people are famous for doing. If you do not like the opposite sex, you are gay. If you prefer the same sex, you are gay. If you prefer the opposite sex, then you are okay. If not, you are not accepted. Why?

Everyone is a human being that deserves to be called a person and not labeled. Promiscuity is not an issue with gay people as much as it is an issue with heterosexual men and some women. To say this is just another reason to ban gay marriages is wrong. Heterosexual people who lead promiscuous lives can settle down and marry. They are not labeled as promiscuous. Gay people who have relationships that end are labeled promiscuous.

I know one man who has had over forty relationships, but he has had over two hundred sexual encounters with women outside of as relationship. I know so many gay people who have had a few relationships, but have had no sexual encounters outside of a relationship.

Now who is the promiscuous of the two?

GSA Day Of Silence Helps You Realize How Much Discrimination There Is

Sheboygan North High School had a Day of Silence back in April of 2006. One of the students participating in the Day of Silence learned something he would not have learned otherwise. He learned that he could not defend himself against criticism and discrimination from other students that do not understand what the Gay Straight Alliance is doing. He said it was hard to hear the words and not be able to say anything. He had a first hand feel of how it feels to be ousted and harassed by your peers.

Although many had believed the Gay Straight Alliance was to promote sex, it is not. It is a way for students to rid their schools and community of discrimination and hatred toward the gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender population.

Another student had commented that a few students that had come out, lost friendships because of their sexual orientation. The group is there for everyone. It is not a group of gay people sitting around trying to make other people gay as many people think. It is a support group if you must think something. It is a group of kids that want their schools to be safe and free of discrimination against everyone.

If every school would have a Gay Straight Alliance in their schools, it could make schools safer and more enjoyable for all. If your school does not have a GSA group, you can do your homework and submit information to a teacher or counselor that might be interested in becoming the adviser to the group, your school could do its part to protect and educate all students and the community as well.

Homosexuality Goes Against Nature

I recently read where a woman was trying to explain why gay couples should not marry. She is straight and feels that God did not intend for same sex people to be together. She went on to say that she could be wrong, but she felt it was the devil messing with life. She then said that she does not judge any person because of their sexual orientation. She then stated that many people feel that being gay goes against nature.

I looked nature up in the dictionary and I was surprised at what I read.

Nature- The essential character of a thing. Qualities that make something what it is, essence. Any or all of the instincts, desires, appetites, drives and so on of a person or animal. What is regarded as normal or acceptable behavior. The primate state of man.

What is regarded as normal or acceptable behavior? Gay people are acceptable because they work, live and love. They are no different from anyone else. They cry, grieve and bleed just like everyone else. They eat, clean and bathe just like everyone else. They volunteer, run charities and fight wars just like some others. They are rich and famous and have nice clothes just like some others.

No one has any business judging gay couples for their sexual preference. Heterosexuals are not judged for their sexual preference, which if you read the paper can be pretty sad and sick. Normal and acceptable behavior is two people getting along and sharing love. Normal and acceptable behavior is marriage to the one you love. Normal and acceptable behavior does not judge.

Some people protest against gay marriages because it goes against the sanctity of marriage, but no one talks about the divorce rate of all these of marriages. If same sex partners were to marry, it would not make any heterosexual marriages less important. They would have the love of their life and gay couples would have the love of their life. They would both be married and live in wedded bliss. This is normal and acceptable behavior.

Gay Verses Heterosexual

Children need a male and a female parent.

This tells you that single parents are forbidden to have children because they do not have the standard male and female household. .

If you allow gay marriages, then you are encouraging the population to be gay.

This tells you that if you allow people to be overweight or short, you are encouraging the population to be the same.

If you allow gay marriages then heterosexual marriages will lose meaningfulness.

You mean Britney Spears marriage that lasted fifty-five hours was very meaningful.

If gay parents are allowed to raise children, they will be gay.

You mean because heterosexual parents only raise heterosexual kids.

Gay marriage should not be allowed because they cannot produce children.

So all heterosexual couples have to produce children or they cannot marry.

Gay sexual orientation is not natural.

Therefore, heterosexuals should not use birth control or wear polyester.

If you actually read this and understood the gay verses heterosexual part of it, you are probably laughing hysterically. The reasons why gay couples cannot marry or adopt are so messed up. As you can see, the reasons given for forbidding gay marriages or adoption do not fit the criteria for banning. If it is, then no infertile couples can marry. The world is going to become over populated more than it is already because birth control is out and never go out in public wearing that polyester. Everybody has to be exactly the same to be natural. This includes weight, height, hair and so forth. Therefore, if you think you are talking to Joe, you might be talking to Hilda.

You can see how ridiculous this sounds, so why is it that everyone is preaching about this. Why do people allow a few to dictate this incredibly asinine way of thinking?

gay and lesbian family, same sex marriage, gay and lesbian couples, gay marriages, California marriages, gay culture, gay kissing, lesbian kissing, gay lifestyle, gay adoption, children of gay parents, gay parenting, gay straight alliance, family rejects gay daughter, gay sons, lesbian daughters, gay verses heterosexual, straight verses gay

Gay Straight Alliance Making Schools Safer

Many people do not accept something they do not know anything about. The Gay Straight Alliance is one of those things that people do not understand. They do not know the work that these kids put into helping to make schools safer for everyone. They emphasize acceptance and harmony. They represent a generation that encourages everyone to get along and accept everyone as an equal. No one is better than anyone else is.

The Gay Straight Alliance has had some resistance in schools from those who refuse to understand and accept the work they do. Students are stepping up to join the Gay Straight Alliance, but some school officials see problems with accepting the organization of a group like this. Adults who reject the organization are showing bad judgment. This organization and all its members in schools around the United States are trying to make the schools safe for everyone by informing everyone about acceptance.

Everyone should look at this as a step forward instead of thinking of ways to dismantle the Gay Straight Alliance. Parents should be proud of their kids for standing up for something they believe in and support their choices and viewpoints. The Gay Straight Alliance is not going away. They are going to continue raising awareness and peace between all sexual orientated individuals.

Their teachings for acceptance reaches the communities and helps them grow stronger instead of being divided. The Gay Straight Alliance needs everyone's support, not just the teachers, school administrators and themselves, they need the communities support as well. Support the Gay Straight Alliance with peaceful living without discrimination and hatred.

Gay And Lesbian Couples Show Sincerity And Goodness

Gay and lesbian couples show sincerity and goodness. They want a commitment in the eyes of God and the world. People complain about gay kissing, lesbian kissing and coupes of the same sex marrying. If gay and lesbian couples are allowed to marry, then they would have the equal rights that they deserve. The world would have to accept their marriage and people would have to stop fighting against what is the inevitable. Gay couples are going to marry.

They might not marry in Florida or Michigan, but they are going to marry in Canada, Massachusetts or California. Other states are going to have to look at this as a whole and not as a state. The way of the world is that these marriages must be accepted and recognized.

When you think about McDonald's and Proctor & Gamble standing up and saying no to bullying by the AFA, you know that things are coming close to an end. Big companies do not feel a need to cave into peoples idle threats. Yes, threatening to boycott the products of these companies are idle threats. Just because a company or a person believes differently than you do, is no reason to threaten with a boycott.

If more companies would take a stand against discriminating threats, people and organizations such as the American Family Association would have to find something else to do. Maybe they could put the idle time to use on something that is important like stopping murders, child abuse, drug use and the war.

Those are the issues that need attention, not gay couples and their rights to express themselves and marry. When will these people see the big picture? Maybe never, but in time, they will see that all their wasted time was nothing more than a bunch of people with to much time on their hands trying to fight for petty things.

July 4th Is A Day Of Celebrating

July 4th is a day when everyone gets together with friends and celebrates. They have parties with cookouts and many drinks. The day usually starts with the parade and then family and friends get together and have fun. This is a time when everyone celebrates the independence of the United States. Independence Day is a proud day in the history of the United States and for the people.

Independence Day symbolizes freedom to live life without dictation. Everyone deserves to live free of dictation and judgment. The day starts with the parade, which allows everyone young and old a little excitement and fun. The rest of the day is celebrated in different ways depending on where you live.

No matter where you live, you are living in a free country. The people are free to speak, free to live life, free to express, free to support something they feel strongly about. Expression is not hatred, expression is not pushing your beliefs on someone, and expression is not condemning. Freedom to live life without dictation does not mean, live the way I live and say or do not live. Free to speak does not mean throw hateful words around, it does not mean spew hatred everywhere. It means if you have something intelligent to say, you can say it.

Ah, Independence Day is a day of celebration for freedom. July 4th is a day when everyone needs to think about what they think and how they express their views. This is a free country and it needs to be kept that way. Wars were fought to give us freedom. Wasn't the war already won? Then why are we fighting another war? Why does the gay community have to fight a war to be treated equally?

Today is a good day to think about why not everyone is treated equally and stand up for freedom for everyone. Enjoy your July 4th everyone.

McDonald's Is Not Giving In To Anti-Gay Group

McDonald's is refusing to give into the bigotry plot of the anti-gay group's demands. McDonald's believes that everyone should be treated with dignity and respect no matter what his or her sexual orientation is. This goes for their employees and their customers. Yes, another step in the right direction for gay people everywhere. Another big company is standing up and saying, "No" to the threats of a boycott.

The American Family Association is losing another battle with a threat of boycott. When will they learn that most businesses know that they have a product that everyone wants and is not going to boycott? What is wrong with this group? Do they not have anything better to be doing with their time? Who is funding such a hateful organization?

This comes after one of the McDonald's officers joined the Board of Directors for the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber.

Vice President of Communications to McDonald's, Richard Ellis, we applaud you for your acceptance of the gay community and look forward to McDonald's continued support for the same sex marriage campaigns and the community as a whole. No one has the right to say whom McDonald's can support and not support.

They are going to make their money anyway because they will not stand up to threats of a boycott. They will keep going long after the anti-gay group falls under the table.

Gay Pride 2008, Be Supportive Not Hypocritical

Have you ever wondered about the Gay Pride Parades during the month of June? All these people bring there kids to see the floats and enjoy the music while some are still seeing red when it comes to gay couples getting married. These people are hypocrites in the biggest way. They are watching the parade and entertaining their kids free, but when it comes time to vote for gay couples to have rights to marry, they will be the first in line to mark the no box on the ballot. Yes, these people need to wake up and see what they are doing.

They are teaching their children that being gay is wrong. They are teaching their children how to hate. They might not realize what they are doing, but in all honesty, not giving somebody the right to live in a free country and have the same rights as they do is constituting bigotry and hate towards gays. The Gay Pride Parades should have shown them that gay people are not bad nor do they deserve to be discriminated against or made to feel like second class citizens.

In Chicago, over 400,000 people viewed the Gay Pride Parade and not all of them were gay. In San Francisco, even more people viewed the Gay Pride Parade and they were not all gay. The two sides of bigotry have arisen. Hate gays, but take advantage of the free entertainment they plan to make people aware. When they try to marry or change the law books, make sure they fail. Place all your time and money into making sure that they do not succeed. Vote against them and look down your nose at them because they do not conform to your way of life.

When the November ballot comes around in California, take a stand and say no to the bigots that preach the bible, but discriminate against human beings. Stand up for people in love that just want to have the same things that you have. They want a family, love and a commitment of love for each other. Is it so hard for people to understand? Does anyone really have the right to say who can marry and who cannot?

No. Everyone should have the same rights no matter what their sexual orientation is or how they choose to live. Accept it California residents and the rest of the world. Gay couples are going to get married and you are not going to stand in their way. They are gaining momentum in the eyes of the people.

We Have Learned Something From Gay Pride Month

Gay Pride parades and other events should have taught everyone something. Gay couples, singles and committed couples just want to be accepted. They want to have the same rights as everyone else. They want to be accepted for whom they are and not what others want them to be. Many people attended the parades. If all these people would respect gay people, there would not be any discrimination and hatred towards their sexual preference.

Everyone deserves the right to freedom of speech, but not if it id used to discriminate against any one person or group of people. Freedom to live your life and marry the person you love is another freedom that gay people need. If anyone had reservations about gay people, they should have watched and attended some of the events that were held throughout the month of June all over the world.

Gay Pride month is one way for people to learn about acceptance. The theme for Chicago was "Live, Love, Be Proud" is one that can be said about everyone. If you live your life to the fullest, you should have no reason to worry about what someone else is doing with his or her life. If you love and believe in love, you should be a happy person and not wish or demand someone to live without love. If you are proud, you should be proud of who you are and what you have accomplished in your life.

When you practice the "Live, Love, Be Proud" way of life, you also will be happy and not have time to worry about how others live. Gay couples deserve respect. As many have seen with the parades during Gay Pride month, everyone can come together and enjoy the parades with all its beautiful floats and dignitaries.

If anything should have been learned by these celebrations, it is that everyone needs to be able to live and love no matter what his or her sexual orientation is. Only those who continue to fight love and life are the ones that will also lose in the end.
